Best answer:

Answer by Olivia Parker
That’s really unfortunate! It sounds like you have a beautiful garden/yard going on! Japanese Beetles aren’t the worst infestations so don’t worry! I suggest you use this product: http://www.pestmall.com/Beetle-Bagger-Japanese-Beetle-Trap-Kit.html. I’m sure it’ll help you. I used it for my mini garden…not nearly as grand as yours. I hope your beetles will be gone shortly!!

Best answer:

Answer by Proud to be 51
I make jam without all the canning equipment. Just cook the fruit with sugar and Certo pectin (follow the instructions on the inside of the pectin package), pour them in processed jars (I think processing instructions are in the pectin package also), seal the jars up and then turn them upside down for about 10-15 minutes. Turn them upright again, and within an hour the “pop” in the center of the lid should pop down. If it doesn’t pop down, refrigerate the ones that don’t. They should be eaten right away. I’ve only had this happen with one jar in all the time I’ve made jam. Good luck.

Question by G M: gardeners and/or bakers? Making raspberry jam w/o using canning method?
I was wondering if there was a way to make raspberry jam or jelly without using the canning method.I have a HUGE raspberry bush in my yard but nobody actually likes them whole and I really don’t want to buy all the supplies for canning. Thanks in advance!

Good luck.
