Q&A: What do you think of my poem?

Question by HoldenCaulfield: What do you think of my poem?
This might end up being a song for a band.

A Gift to Give

With all the kids looking for their gifts to give
Beside parents wishing for new lives to live
With all the pale young faces in clouds that smile
Above the inkblots that are scared and hostile
With all the eyes going wild during a dream
Seeing their lost lives they hope to redeem
With all the villains who are filled with regrets
Fighting epic heroes who hope no one forgets
There just has to be a good reason to live
When everything has its own gift to give

With all the angry rebels making their stand
Next to the worried soldiers with guns in hand
With all the joker’s killing from their stages
In front of common kings and queens of all ages
With all the lonely hermits turning the pages
Of books about lovers escaping from cages
With all the bright carousels spinning today
Atop a shiny blue planet on display
Nothing ever hands you a reason to stay
Nothing spoon feeds you a purpose to live by
But even though answers don’t fall from the sky
I know you’ll try to stick around anyway
To find your gift and then give it away

With all the murals of sunny days to show
Behind starving artists with no where to go
With all the wretched farmers with crops to grow
Taking dirty overalls off a scarecrow
With all the astronauts on an odyssey
Embracing the universe in harmony
With all the passengers in glossy new cars
Driving around the sun and staring at stars
There has to be a good reason why we’re here
But no one’s in the driver’s seat you’ll have to steer

From the moment of birth there’s a hidden gift
Of meaning underneath a world you’ll have to lift
In life you’re the hero of your own story
Bravely diving into your world of glory
In death you’ll never get a second chance to live
Just hope there’s still time to find your gift to gve

With all the tired cops who hold back their applause
As they chase magicians who break nature’s laws
With all the blooming prison’s housing the harmless
Far from the gardeners selling seeds in congress
With all the smoke covered stars no one will miss
and giants waiting to explode out of darkness
With all the shinning pinwheels on a windy day
Within a spinning galaxy on display
Nothing ever hands you a reason to stay
Nothing ever whispers meaning in your ear
But even though the world is never clear
I know you’ll try to stick around anyway
To find your gift and then give it away
