Lithium iron phosphate batteries

The lithium ion cells are based on various cathode materials and are of three types. They are lithium manganese oxide, lithium iron phosphate and lithium cobalt oxide types. Though lithium cobalt oxide cell comprises of the benefit of high energy density, yet it lacks the safety concerns. The lithium manganese oxide cell evaluates application on elevated rates owing to safe characteristics. However, the high temperature is the main draw back. The lithium iron phosphate batteries possess the best safe characteristics, good availability and long cycle life covering 2000 cycles. The lithium iron phosphate batteries are suitable for increased level of discharge rate occasions including electric car, electric scooter and also e-bike, solar energy system, UPS and power tools.

As per the requirement, the lithium iron phosphate applications can be modified to provide solution to gratify the needs of the customer. The phosphate batteries are extremely safe when they are overcharged under 5V 3A. This is so because the temperature does not exceed 55 degree Celsius. The same battery gets heated up after 7-8 hours and the battery cannot look hot or totally out of control, as the temperature of the battery cannot exceed 110 degree Celsius. The safety of lithium iron phosphate battery is ascertained by using LiFePO4. This is used as anode pole as this is a type of phosphate that accumulates the anion and the PO chemical bond is very strong. However this is thermodynamically constant and there is nothing to worry as it releases oxygen.

The LiFePO4 is of crystal structure with minimal electric discharge and so it is stable as well as safe with a long cycle life. As it can withstand oxidation, the performance of the battery can be utilized to the best. Phosphates have the best characteristics of being very stable even in short circuit conditions or overcharge and also have the capacity of withstanding high temperatures devoid of decomposing. When an abuse occurs, phosphates do not burn. Owing to these features, lithium iron phosphate batteries are fundamentally superior to Lithium ion batteries that are made using other cathode materials.

Technology LiFePO4 consists of light metals and refrain from exhibiting the memory effect. This technology demonstrates long cycle life, maintenance free and excellent shelf life. The flexibility in terms of cell design and battery application is additional benefit. This is manufactured especially to suit all smaller applications. This technology offers the greatest performance, security, cost effective, environmental characteristics and consistency.
