Is there a limit in honoring ones parents?

Let’s say your parent moved in with your family (spouse, kids) after a divorce while he/she got on their feet. After 4 years, of living totally expense free yet makes more money than you do, does nothing for the household whatsoever to the point he/she is basically another child to take care of. Would God punish you for telling them to go be self sufficient? Or would it be like when a parent kicks out their kid to go be a grown up?
