Is a fully renovated basement with kitchen built along the width of a ranch home a negative resell factor?

Question by r3ge83hd: Is a fully renovated basement with kitchen built along the width of a ranch home a negative resell factor?
If a fully renovated kitchen with basement built along the width of a ranch home having a garden door leading out from the side to the front garden (unlike conventionally built basements built along the back length of the house opening with french doors to the back garden) a negative resale factor, and thus only appropriate for renting out? A concrete patio and fence separate the basement door from the neighbor’s home, and the basement also has access from the house by steps going down within the house itself.
