Fungi are a very important part to the environment than most people think. They decompose the dead organic materials. This is by no means a very easy task. This is always a tough task. Without fungi, the world would have been under several meters of dead and decaying organic matter with people walking about holding their noses. Fungi are also a type of food that most people like. Their shape might not be approved of by many people but it is their tiny size which makes it easy for fungi to multiply. They also help in the growth of plants such as the leguminous plants.

Fungi help in the growth of the Christmas tree. They take the sugar from the plant from the tree and help the tree to absorb water as well as other mineral resources from the earth. They show a very good co-operation. Christmas is never Christmas without gifts. As soon as the gifts are given, the wrapping paper is torn open and the gifts are adored.
The paper that is used for wrapping the gifts attracts a different kind of fungi and bacteria, which can in turn decompose the paper. After this paper is decomposed, the fungi and bacteria return carbon and other such nutrients so that they can be used by other organisms. Fungi also act upon meals, leftovers, lunch and other organic stuff.

Fungi as well as bacterial are known as major recyclers as it releases phosphorous, carbon and other materials in the environment and the squanders are decomposed to become natural organic substances. These substances are useful for plants as well as animals. Fungus is essential for our ecosystem as fungus digests the brown crust existing on the tree and leaves behind white cellulose from which paper is made. Mushrooms are popular and are an important part of the traditional medicine of the Chinese. The development of mushrooms has a significant role of the fungi.

Fungi may be found to be harmful to plants as well as animals. Though, they are curable, they are matter of concern. Fungi on the toe nail are found to be serious. With so many medical advancements, there are medicines available, yet people strongly believe on the tea tree oil than any topical medicines. Fungi helps in keeping the environment clean as it stays on the decomposed and dead things and transforms it into compost and thereby liberates lot of carbon lacking in the atmosphere. Fungi are also of immense use to produce wines and bread. It is of great use in synthesis of various food materials.
