Fungus is essential for our ecosystem as fungus digests the brown crust existing on the tree and leaves behind white cellulose from which paper is made. Mushrooms are popular and are an important part of the traditional medicine of the Chinese. The development of mushrooms has a significant role of the fungi.

With so many medical advancements, there are medicines available, yet people strongly believe on the tea tree oil than any topical medicines. Fungi helps in keeping the environment clean as it stays on the decomposed and dead things and transforms it into compost and thereby liberates lot of carbon lacking in the atmosphere. Fungi are also of immense use to produce wines and bread. It is of great use in synthesis of various food materials.
