importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence.
Social workers are guided by a professional code of ethics on advocating for social justice, change, equality, human rights, and well-being of all individuals, including, but not limited to, the disadvantaged, poor, vulnerable, and oppressed individuals that are the most helpless individuals in society. Our role as social workers is to help these individuals function more effectively and help them solve problems and issues in their everyday lives. Therefore, I am committed to there being a more just society in which all individuals are treated with respect and equality, that is demanded of each individual. For example, all individuals have basic human needs and should be given the opportunity to live decent, dignified, and fulfilling lives. So, I want to ensure that these individuals have equal access to information, services, resources, and programs that will improve their quality of live and well-being. All individuals have a right to live decent lives but because of the way society is structured, not all individuals have equal access to health, housing, education, food, security, employment and development, which are an individuals basic human needs. It is our responsibility to ensure that these individuals have their needs met so that they can be self-sufficient and develop their lives to the fullest potential.
